Anna Marie Castro debuted for the short lived Barrio Joyride act for a title she voiced and cowrote with Joey Q titled "Cool It". Her voice is powerful and makes a hell of an impression!
Her new cut produced by Gabriel Rowland and Mike Noriega is a rare uptempo rola titled "No Appreciation" originally cut by Tut Sutton on the USA label. According to folklore, only 4 original OG's are known to survive, first broke by John Manship and made popular in the UK Rare Soul Club scene. The OG is said to be sold for a whopping 10K and was recently reissued by Hit and Run.
Anna Marie Castro has a similar delivery that compliments the OG while Noriega adds some harmony "oohs" not on the OG. Gabriel Rowland pitches the tempo down a bit while still making it a dancer. This is one bad rola!

Mike Noriega sings all the parts and takes his pen to write about a protective father who thinks that this young man is "Cuckoo" for trying to date his daughter! This is a great Soul Harmony rola title with a great story that hits home. We all been there, trying to impress or meet an overprotective father of someone we love in order to go out with her. This rola has a mid 60’s sound, harmonies and a bass vocal rap reminiscent of Doo Wop and early 60’s records.
